Lewiston SR22
Q: I need to add my teenager to my Lewiston SR22 policy, but I’m afraid my rates will go up even higher. Would it be cheaper if she got a seperate policy?
A: I probably wouldn’t make much of a difference if your daughter got a seperate policy from your own Lewison SR22 insurance, and might in fact be even more expensive. Usually, unless there’s a huge difference in your risk facotrs, you can get a cheaper car insurance premium the more people you add to your car insurance policy. Also, unless your daughter is over 18 she probably isn’t even allowed to get her own car insurance policy.
Don’t worry about getting your daughter on a seperate policy. What you need to be thinking about is ways for you to save money on the policy you will be adding her to. Make sure she’s getting good grades in school, and ask your car insurance company if you can get a good student discount on your Lewiston SR22. You can use this as a good teaching method for a teenage girl when it comes to showing the importance of school. If you don’t make good enough grades to get the discount–and only a B average is usually required–then you simply can’t drive the car. Easy.
